We have now truly entered into Jerusalem! We pray that we may be found worthy companions of our blessed Lord as we take this annual journey in which we re-live in a sacramental way the mysteries of our salvation.
The Sevenoaks group met for the 11.15am Mass at the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury. The mass was animated by the music group which helped us immensely to enter into the mysteries. Mass was celebrated by the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Southwark, Msgr Matthew Dickens. In his homily he gave encouragement and a very warm welcome to our group as we prepare to be received on Maundy Thursday.
After Mass we assembled in the Parish Room for our last Catechesis session before reception into full communion with the Catholic Church through the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. James Bradley and Ingrid LaTrobe led the session about Confession for the younger members of the group. Msgr Dickens joined us for our Catechesis and gave a very meaningful contribution. We are all ready now to make our general Confession in readiness for Maundy Thursday. Please keep praying for us.
And fresh from Jerusalem a short clip about this morning’s celebrations in the Holy Sepulchre led by His Beatitude Fouad Twal, The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem. For those who have been to the Holy Land in our last pilgrimage and for those who will join us this August you can glimpse our guide Deacon Daoud from the Coptic Church, processing in front of his Ordinary.
